Tower Clocks -- has anyone built a wooden one yet?
« on: January 28, 2007, 05:26:39 PM »
I just discovered a website that describes tower clock mechanisms in detail and I will describe it further in the Links section.  It occurs to me that these large-scale clockworks would lend themselves particularly well to wooden construction in actual size, complete with chiming and other "complicating" features.

Has anyone here either heard of, or considered building, a wooden tower clock mechanism?

I am currently working on what looks a lot like a wooden tower clock.  It is big and has similar frames and uses a gravity escapement.  I will post some pictures soon.
