Hello All, I'm currently trying my hand at my first wooden clock and enjoying every minute of it.  Unfortunitly time to work on it is far and few between so I just had a quick question to those of you using CNC routers to speed things up.  What brand are you using?  I priced them out awhile back and gave up because the price was too high but I may have missed a more reasonably priced alternative?  I've found forums dealing with building your own but I'd rather spend what time I have making sawdust.  Any suggestions on a reasonable CNC machine?

I have been running a ShopBot CNC router for about 6 months now and would highly recommend it.  It compares well with machines costing 3-4 times as much and is far better than the other "entry level" machines that I looked at. You can get one new in the $7,000 to $10,000 range. I got a used machine with a 5hp spindle, a control computer and lots of extras goodies for $11,000 total so there are good deals on used ShopBots out there. If anyone is interested, I would suggest they checkout the site at http://www.shopbot.com and especially the forums at http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/discus.cgi . I hang out there all the time and there are tons of users on there who will openly answer any questions and tell you the good and the bad about the machines.
