Small router bits
« on: July 18, 2006, 05:32:49 PM »
I use a CNC router for my gears made from either homemade plywood or commercial baltic birch. In both cases the gear thickness ranges from a minimum of 1/4" to a maximum of 1/2". I would like to find straight up or down spiral router bits of 1/32" diameter but so far they remain elusive. I have found 1/16" bits but they only cut through a maximum of 1/4". Does anyone know of a supplier for 1/32 bits and 1/16th that have a cutting depth of up to 1/2"? The smaller bits would allow me to generate great wheels of 4- 5" rather than my current limit of about 8". I've checked the usual commercial sources to no avail.
