Escapement issues...help
« on: November 18, 2012, 01:38:12 PM »
I'm a newbie. I am trying to build wooden gear clocks. It is fascinating.
I've read the free e-book on how to draw escapements....copied things i've found on the net..

i always get hung up on the escapement. everything else will work just fine.
it is like i can't get it aligned correctly...or get it work work well at all...
Sometimes it works for a few seconds then spins out of control.
it is driving me mad.

I am going to totally lose my mind...haha...

any thoughts pointers on how to the a simple graham escapement working? I know you all have graduated onto grasshoppers...but i'm still, in this discipline, a grasshopper myself.

Redrabbit,
Sorry to be so long in replying.  I'm new here too, but I've had pretty good luck with designing a deadbeat escapement.  Did you get yours fixed, or are you still having problems?
